Steps To Use Henna and Indigo Together for Black Hair

STEP 1: Applying natural henna powder:

  1. Mix natural henna powder with lemon juice in a bowl.
  2. Slowly add the water to the mixture until it acquires a thick paste consistency.
  3. Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and leave it overnight to release the dye.
  4. Take an old towel and wrap it around your shoulders, apply petroleum jelly on your neck and hairline, and put on a pair of rubber gloves to avoid staining.
  5. Section your hair and apply the paste evenly on your clean hair strands and head. Put on a shower cap and leave it for at least 2 hours.
  6. Rinse off the hair with regular water and do not team up with any shampoo or conditioner.

STEP 2: Applying Herbal Indigo Powder

  1. Take indigo powder in a bowl along with a pinch of salt and mix it. Now, slowly add water to the mix and blend until it becomes a thick paste.
  2. Part your hair into small sections and start applying the indigo paste evenly as you have earlier applied the henna.
  3. Cover your head and hair with a shower cap and leave it overnight.
  4. Next day, wash your hair with regular water and avoid using any shampoo and conditioners for at least 2-3 days as the color will develop slowly.
